FIVEFORGE / Guides / Turn an Image into a FiveM Prop with AI
Turn an image into a FiveM prop
Drop in a single image, get a textured 3D mesh back, then tune scale, collision and LODs in the same editor used for hand-modelled props and export a drop-in resource. No modelling skill required.
Upload an image. One photo, render or concept art of the object.
Generation. The image is turned into a textured mesh (roughly 45k triangles, PBR textures). This takes one to three minutes, and you get a Discord DM when it finishes.
Tune it in the editor. The result lands in the full Prop Creator — scale it against a ped for real-world size, set box or mesh collision, generate LODs, cut holes or add glass.
Export. You get the usual drop-in zip: fxmanifest.lua, .ydr, .ytyp, .ytd and a spawn command.
The input image decides the result
AI image-to-3D only ever sees the one photo you give it, so it has to invent every surface it cannot see. That is where bad results come from, not from the converter.
Use a three-quarter angle, not a flat front-on shot. A straight-on photo means the AI is guessing the entire depth of the object.
Plain background, whole object in frame, even lighting. Harsh shadows get baked into the texture.
One object per image. A cluttered scene becomes a cluttered blob.
No usable angle available? Ask an image model to re-render your reference from a three-quarter view first, then feed that in.
AI prop vs converting a real model
AI generation is the right call when you have a picture and no model. If you already have an .obj, .fbx or .glb, skip the AI entirely — converting the real model is cheaper and gives clean topology and exact UVs. You can also pull a ready-made model from the built-in Sketchfab browser.
FAQ
Can AI really make a usable FiveM prop from one photo?
For clearly-shot single objects, yes. The AI has to invent surfaces it cannot see, so a three-quarter angle on a plain background makes the difference between a usable prop and a blob.
Do I need modelling skills?
No. Generation is automatic and the editor handles scale, collision and LODs with sliders and toggles.
Is the AI prop editable afterwards?
Yes. It lands in the same Prop Creator as any uploaded model, so you can rescale, change collision, decimate, add LODs and re-export free for 7 days.
What does it cost?
Image-to-3D generation is part of the Pro subscription. Converting a model you already have is the standard 5-credit prop export instead.
